I've been researching a post on the effects of the Iraq war on Religion Studies, but I'd like to speak to this on its own.  I wish to join Dr. DeConick in this effort and I ask you to consider the same.  For further information, see:

The Mandaeans are the last living branch of Gnosticism and one of several rare, small, minority religions threatened by current conditions in Iraq.  (See my recent remarks on religious extinction:  Iraq was one of the few places in the world noted for the survival of several unique minority religions.)  I stand for the rights of every religion, per Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and I ask you to educate policymakers on this issue and urge them to do something positive about it, no matter what your feelings are on the war, itself.
