If you have the opportunity, I recommend attending to the Latin Mass, recently given new life by the Pope:

The impact of this religious service on Western art and music (especially for anything before the 1500's) make it worth hearing.  If you do not understand the words, then recall that most lay people who heard it throughout history did not understand it either, and you are in good company.
