A Highly Anticipated Book Arrives
Listen to this article
Today a thick, book-shaped box was waiting on my doorstep from a Big Aetherial Bookseller. I recognized their logo from my front walk, hurried to the door, scooped up the book, and muttered, "My, they got it here early." My copy of The Gospel of Judas: Critical Edition is here.
My first complaint is I wish the book were larger. However, the photos are beautiful and thorough, the translations are in French and English, there are indexes to the Coptic, and the introductions and commentaries are generous. I've done little more than browse, but I hope to spend the weekend reading it.
I wish everyone happy reading, no matter what book it may be.

P.S. I've also never seen damage like this to papyrus: fading (p. 96), water damage (p. 194), halves of pages that don't appear to match (p. 98), and pages that look like they've been scrubbed on a washboard (p.186), and not a page without some kind of hole, tatter, or break (usually all three).
